About Hajj

About Hajj

About a neat, clean, selfless and sincere Hajj, The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him) said : "Whoever performs Hajj solely for Allah and in the course of it abstains from sensual and sinful acts, he will return as pure as a new-born child."
Islam is built on Five Pillars of Enlightenment that outline the primary obligations a Muslim must fulfill throughout their life. When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him) was asked to define Islam, he named the Five Pillars, the cornerstones of divine faith and living in Islam.

These acts of worship are:
  1.     Shahada: Faith
  2.     Salah: Prayer
  3.     Zakat: Alms
  4.     Sawm: Fasting
  5.     Hajj: Pilgrimage
Hajj: Pilgrimage

Definition of Hajj:
Literally:    The word "Hajj" means heading for an honorable person or place.
Legally:    Hajj means worshipping Allah by performing the Hajj rituals, which are defined as specific acts performed at a specific time and place in a specific way.

The fifth pillar is the obligation for every Muslim, male or female, to undertake the pilgrimage to Makkah at least once in their lifetime, if mentally, physically and financially able to do so. Asking Allah's forgiveness, it must be conducted with complete devotion to Allah.
